“Our classes are led by educators with a passion for teaching and learning.”
Since 1895, NEGS has maintained a proud tradition of providing outstanding education for day and boarding students from Years 7 to 12.
We offer a personalised academic program which encourages students to identify and develop their talents and express those talents with confidence.
Girls select their courses of study from a balanced curriculum with pathways through Years 7 to 12 in the sciences, humanities, creative arts, languages, agriculture and technology.
The small classes are taught by highly-qualified teachers with a genuine passion for learning. NEGS’ flexible approach to learning and a varied curriculum mean girls can choose up to three Additional Studies Units (electives) in Years 9 and 10 with the flexibility to change these electives in Year 10.
We offer girls a comprehensive careers program, enhanced leadership opportunities, full membership to IGSSA (Independent Girls’ Schools Sports Association) for competitive sport, extension education events, opportunities to be a part of the wider cultural life of Armidale and opportunities to utilise the University of New England’s extensive resources.
NEGS prides itself on being able to cater to students of all abilities. We provide opportunities for extension and enrichment in all academic and elective subjects. NEGS also conducts a scholars program in Years 9 and 10, where students can study an area of interest in greater depth, working both independently on chosen projects and with teacher guidance. We also offer learning support, both one-on-one and small groups, for students identified as requiring extra assistance with their learning.
Our senior students can select from a broad range of subjects, catering for all interests and providing an excellent foundation for post-school opportunities.
