NEWS FROM MUSIC

NEGS have made a great start at the Armidale Eisteddfod. On Tuesday, 15th May we began with our K-2 choir who sang confidently and in time. What a great performance they gave. In the afternoon session we began with our Junior School Vocal Ensemble who sang beautifully taking out 2nd place in their division, a fantastic effort by the students. We finished the afternoon with a great performance by our Year 7/8 choir taking 1st place for their wonderful singing.

On Wednesday, 16th May the Junior School 3-6 choir placed 3rd at the Eisteddfod with their lovely singing concluding the choir section.

Our NEGS Band will be performing at the Eisteddfod on May 24th and Samaurez Strings will be performing on Sunday, May 27th at NECOM so the students are very busy practising their parts.

Class Ensembles will be performing on June 6th at NECOM so come along and support these groups if you can. The students love seeing you in the audience.

We have our second Twilight Concert for the year coming up on Tuesday evening, May 29th so come along and see some of our music stars from both Junior and Senior school. The concert will be held in the Jan Milburn room beginning at 6pm. A light supper will be served afterwards.

We will also be holding our annual “Night Of Music” on Wednesday evening, June 27th so hopefully as many parents as possible will be able to attend this concert. See all the music groups in action on this night, it will be fabulous!

Yours in music,
