Welcome to the 2018 school year to all students and families! In the Sports Department this year, your daughters will be given the opportunity to try new sports and activities as well as competing and representing the school.

Friday 16th February – NEGS Combined Swimming Carnival.
Friday 16th March – IGSSA Swimming Carnival.
Thursday 5th – 8th April – NEGS Commonwealth Games Excursion.
Thursday 12th April – NEGS Senior School Cross Country Carnival.
Prior to the commencement of school the Junior and Senior NEGS rowing crews participated in a rowing camp to prepare themselves for the Head of the River. We would like to thank Armidale Rowing Club for their expert advice and taking time to coach the NEGS rowing crews.
Congratulations to Grace Cassidy in her recent achievements at the NSW Country Championships. Grace placed 2nd in the 800m and 3rd in the 400m. We wish Grace the best of luck in the upcoming NSW Junior Championships.
NEGS is pleased to call for expressions of interest for the 2018 Netball & Hockey tour to Fiji. The tour will be for 9 nights and take place in the October school holidays 2018 (approximate dates 4th – 13th October 2018).
The tour aims to create a memorable, educational and cultural experience for the Girls using sport as the platform. The tour will involve Netball and Hockey matches against local Fijian schools, community service in a local village, an overnight stay in a Fijian boarding school and sightseeing in Fiji.
The cost of the tour at this stage is approximately $2700 – 3000 AUD per student. This cost includes airfares, accommodation, land transport, breakfast and dinner daily, organisation of games, village visits and coordination of service activities. More details regarding attendance criteria, fundraising, inclusions and itinerary will be circulated in due course.

The NSW Government is helping kids get active with the new Active Kids program. From 31 January 2018, parents, guardians and carers can apply for a $100 voucher per calendar year for each student enrolled in school. The voucher may be used with a registered activity provider for registration, participation and membership costs for sport, fitness and active recreation activities. The voucher can be used at any time during the calendar year it was issued. To use the voucher, give your voucher details to an approved Active Kids Provider. The program runs year-round, so kids can get active at any time!
