Mrs Sally Spillane & Mr Phil Oxley

As I write this I am happily listening to students practising their instruments in the Music Block. It is a privilege to listen to them play their instruments. It was a lovely evening at their first Twilight Concert for the year. We hope that you can come along and listen to some of our talented music stars from Senior School, at the next Twilight Concert.

At the conclusion, we took some of our Senior Music students out to dinner then went to the first Musica Viva Concert for the year where we were entertained by internationally acclaimed celloist and guitarist Karin Schaupp and Umberto Clerici, what a great night out with the students.

Mr Oxley is enjoying working with his Senior Vocal Ensemble, they are sounding wonderful as they gear up for their performance at the Armidale Eisteddfod. The NEGS Vocal Ensemble are also sounding wonderful as they are busy learning their songs getting ready for different concerts they will be performing in next term.

Junior School groups are working so well together, Mr Oxley and I are thrilled with the wonderful attitudes the students display and how much they have improved playing together as a musical group.

It is wonderful to see how many students are taking up playing instruments this year. If you would like your child to play an instrument contact the Music Department and we can set  it all up for you.

Yours in music
