Transition received second place in the Mathematics Association of NSW Maths investigation competition. ‘How to discover the bigness’ was a fun and engaging project that explored size. The Transition class measured informally and formally, estimated, guessed, graphed, weighed, counted, made an enormous seven metre cardboard shark and even asked the big kids to help out with one of their puzzling questions. Well done to Mrs McCann, Miss Bec and our youngest learners.
Transition also had a visit from Year 8. Our older students enthusiastically embraced designing toys for our four year olds. Playing with the toys was a hive of activity and laughter. Well done girls. We love when NEGS and St John’s work together.
