The Homework Centre is operational from 3.30 – 5.30 pm, Mondays through to Thursdays.
Children attending the Centre are picked up within the school playground at the end of the school day and are escorted to our classroom. Our procedures ensure that all children are safe and secure at the end of the day, even if a parent is unexpectedly delayed.
Our Homework Centre differs from After School Care Programs because the children access assistance from a qualified teacher. Senior NEGS girls support their younger peers whilst completing Service projects and GAP students are employed to listen to children read and tutor our young students.
Our Infants and Primary students enjoy the Centre as a quiet area to complete their Homework independently and to seek support when they require academic assistance. Time is always reserved for Infants’ Readers and games for Transition students. When Homework is completed for the required time, games and fun activities are an important component of celebrating student’s efforts.
The aim of our Homework Centre is to provide a settled environment that establishes good Homework routines and student independence, in a fun and family friendly space.
Please contact the Junior School office for further enquiries on this unique Centre.
