Indigenous Student Excursion to view the 2017 School’s Reconciliation Challenge – Artworks
Miss Taylor Naylor, NEGS’ Indigenous Education Assistant, works closely with all of the 16 girls on the school’s Indigenous Education Program led by Mrs Angela Sole. On Thursday, 22nd February, Mrs Sole and Miss Naylor accompanied the girls to Saumerez Homestead to view the winning artworks of the 2017 Reconciliation Art Challenge. Mr Les Davis of Saumerez Homestead spoke to the girls about the exhibition and local history. The artwork has inspired the girls with their art making which will take place in the regular weekly meetings at school in the school’s Indigenous Girls’ Room in Floresta.
